Eagles grab third place finish at Injury Fund meet

The Barrington High School boys indoor track team opened the season with a third place finish at the RIIL Injury Fund meet on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Providence Career and Technical Academy. 

Barrington scored 41 teams points, finishing behind first place Hendricken, which scored 88 points, and Classical, which finished with 52 points.

Will Sanchez, Thomas McAdams and William Cauley each scored key points for Barrington, recording second place finishes in different events. 

Sanchez finished second in the long jump, with a distance of 19 feet, 6 inches. McAdam was second in the high jump, clearing a height of 5 feet, 4 inches. And Cauley was second in the weight throw, with a top distance of 64 feet, 3.25 inches.

Barrington High School Coach Bill Barrass said the third place finished was a great start to the season for his Eagles. 

Other top-6 BHS finishes:

• 3. Distance Medley Relay — Kaden Voeller (1,200), Caleb Schultz (400), Adam Copple (800) and CJ Hilty (1,600) — 12:34.25

• 3. Shot put — Cauley — 42 feet, 3.15 inches

• 3. 4x400-meter relay — Sanchez, Ethan Major, Holden Vaughan, and Jackson Montour — 3:53.33

• 5. Shuttle hurdles — Walter Joachim-DelPoio, Jackson Duffy, Hagan Hill, and Eli Terrell — 39.52

• 5. Sprint Medley Relay — Mark Bernardo (200), Roberto Moran (200), Luke Wilcox (400), Charlie Stockwell (800) — 4:12.77

• 6. 4x200-meter relay — Aaron Brady, Andrew Blazewicz, Walter Joachim-DelPoio, Jackson O'Connor — 1:42.31
