The Barrington High School boys hockey team picked up 3 points over the weekend, beating the LaSalle Rams 2-1 Friday night at Smithfield and tying Moses Brown 3-3 Saturday evening at Lynch Arena. 

Against LaSalle, the Eagles’ Chase Watts opened the scoring nine minutes into the opening period, a power play goal assisted by Henry Kelsey. The first period ended with the Eagles leading 1-0. Watts would put the Eagles up 2-0 about eight minutes into the second period. Conner Hayes assisted. The Eagles skated into the intermission with a 2-0 lead. LaSalle made the game interesting three minutes into the third period, and a late Eagles’ penalty tested the young Eagles resolve as LaSalle pulled its goalie with two minutes to play and skated 6 on 4, but the Eagles defenders kept the Rams at bay to secure the victory, the first in 13 years versus the private school. The Eagles goaltender, Cam Siwik turned away 56 of the 57 shots he faced. 

The Eagles faced off against the Moses Brown Quakers Saturday night in front of a packed house at Lynch Arena. The Eagles jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Henry Kelsey goal at the 9:30 mark of the first period. Conner Hayes and Erik Hall assisted. The first period ended with a 1-0 Eagles lead. The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead three minutes into the second period as Trent Senn knocked home a rebound off a Ben Lebreche shot. Watts put the Eagles up 3-0 on an unassisted tally with two minutes left in the second. 

The Quakers finally got on the board with just over seven minutes to play. An ill advised penalty following the goal, put the Quakers immediately on the power play, and 54 seconds later the Quakers struck again to make it 3-2. With all the momentum shifted in Moses Brown's favor the Eagles found themselves facing a relentless and frenzied attack. The Quakers broke through with one minute to play in regulation. As the game went into a 5 minute overtime period, the Quakers were penalized for tripping. Despite having the man advantage, some sloppy play by the Eagles allowed the Quakers 2 clear breakaways, but goalie Cam Siwik turned both attempts aside. The Eagles had to settle for a tie. Siwik stopped 41 of the 44 shots he faced. 

The Eagles host the Smithfield Friday night at 6 at Portsmouth Abbey, and the Mansfield Hornets Saturday night at 8 at Lynch Arena.
