Donalda Medeiros, 101, Tiverton

Donalda "Donna" (Grandmont) Medeiros, 101, of Tiverton, wife of the late Manuel "Bob" Medeiros, died at home with her loving family at her side, Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017.

Tiverton's oldest resident and recipient of the Boston Post Cane, she held an Honorary Diploma from BMC Durfee High School which she was unable to complete due to the Depression. She loved her dog "Zoe,” word searches and reading, did a lot of sewing in her life and cherished spending time with her family. A member of UNITE, she was employed by Center Garment, Fall River.

She lived with and was cared for by her daughter Donna Clark and her husband Charles, and also leaves her son Steven Medeiros (wife Marian) of Little Compton; daughter Barbara Ferreira of Tiverton, and son Richard Medeiros (wife Rachel) of Little Compton; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Henri and Roseanna (Bazinet) Grandmont and the sister of the late Ida Lusignan, and Robert, Emery, Richard and Aldea Grandmont.

Her funeral was held Saturday from the Auclair Funeral Home, Fall River, with a funeral Mass at St. Catherine Church, Little Compton. Interment was at Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
