TIVERTON — Tiverton tennis hosted North Providence in tennis Thursday and won handily by a 7-0 score.
This was the team’s third match of the week and the Tigers won all three by 7-0 shutouts (the other victories were over Portsmouth and North Smithfield) to improve to 7-1.
“We have moved up to Division 2 this year and are fighting for every win,” said Coach Bill Phillips.
We have a senior-led team, featuring seniors Josh Dore at first singles, Will Brigham at third singles, Carson Hart at fourth singles, Danny Lopes at first doubles, and Jake Vaillancourt at third doubles.
Juniors include Matt Gacioch at second singles, Ryan Ennis at first doubles, Harshil
Patel at second doubles, Chad Carreiro at second doubles, and Dillon Guerrera at third
doubles.
“Today versus a young North Providence team we played smart tennis, forcing our opponents to make difficult shots. As a team we served well and our doubles teams were excellent at net,” the coach said.
