Democratic fundraisers announced in Little Compton

LITTLE COMPTON — The Little Compton Democratic Town Committee announces two fundraisers in the coming days, one for Jack Reed, the other for Nellie Gorbea.

• Jack Reed fundraiser at the Moore's house - Sunday, August 25 - Libby and Raul Moore are hosting a fundraiser from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at their house at 686M West Main Road.  Committee members are asked to help with refreshments and hors d'ouvres. RSVP (and whether you can bring a refreshment) at andrewmoorewilder@gmail.com and  

• Nellie Gorbea fundraiser - Tuesday, August 27 - at Dorothy Bedford and Rush Taggart's home at 596 West Main Road from 5 - 7 p.m.  Suggested donations are $250 - $500, but Ms. Gorbea said that any donation big or small will get you in the door.  Please see her event contribution page to make a donation and RSVP to Maddie LeBlank at maddie@nelliegorbea.com

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
