Cynthia Ann Adams, RN, 76, of North Kingstown

Cynthia Ann Adams, RN, 76, of North Kingstown, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020.

Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Maria Drowne.

Mrs. Adams was a Certified Addictions Nurse and was employed by High Point and SStar.  She took her profession seriously and was relentless in her dedication to her patients.

In her spare time she enjoyed bird-watching and enjoyed reading.

She is survived by a son, Jay M. Adams of South Kingstown. She was the mother of the late Mark Colby Adams.

Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, Tuesday from 10 to  11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery. For guest book and condolences, averystortifuneralhome.com.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
