FOWL to present “Challenger: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe”, a living history performance, at Westport Free Public Library Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 7 PM

The Friends of the Westport Library (FOWL) is proud to present a multimedia immersive living history performance , “Challenger: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe” featuring the celebrated founder and artistic director of History At Play, Judith Kalaora as Teacher in Space Christa McAuliffe on Thursday, July 11 at 7 PM in the Manton Community Room at the Westport Free Public Library. Take a journey through the inspiring life of this educational pioneer and the heroic story of the crew of the NASA space shuttle Challenger in this engrossing program for adults and families alike.

Judith Kalaora is a professional educator, writer and living historian who founded History At Play in 2010 to chronicle the lives of influential and oft forgotten women. She holds a BFA from Syracuse University and completed the Globe Education Program at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, England. Please visit www. HistoryAtPlay.com for additional information.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
