Catherine F. “Kitty” Savino, 94, of Bristol

Catherine F. “Kitty” (Palumbo) Savino, 94, of Bristol, R.I. passed away peacefully at the Crestwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Retirement Home in Warren, R.I. She was the wife of Domenic J. Savino for the last 48 years. Catherine was born in Barrington, R.I. She was the daughter of the late Angelina (Casale) and Frank Palumbo.

Catherine worked as a jewelry label maker for many years before retiring from the Speidel Company in 1988.

Catherine was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was a Girl Scouts leader and she lived by the motto “Be Prepared.” Catherine was a very thoughtful and caring person. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for family birthdays, celebrations, and holidays.

Catherine took special pride in attending the activities and life events of her grandchildren. Together with her husband, they shared many wonderful years fishing, clamming, and entertaining family and friends on their boat, the “We Two.”

In addition to her husband Domenic, Catherine leaves behind her daughters, Kathleen DuPont and Donna Murgo (Nicholas).  She also leaves behind her two grandchildren, Domenic Murgo and Gabriel Murgo (Stephanie); a great-grandchild, Zachary Murgo; a sister, Joan DiPetrillo; and several nieces and nephews.

Catherine was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Frank Palumbo and Victoria Adams.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at 10 a.m. inside Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol, R.I. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
