Carolyn H. Faulhaber, 84, formerly of Barrington

Carolyn H. (Hanson) Faulhaber, 84, of East Providence, formerly of Barrington, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at HopeHealth. She was the wife of John M. Faulhaber, whom she was married to for 62 years. Born in Hays, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Chester Hanson and Irma (Gilbert) Hanson.

Carolyn grew up in Nutley, NJ and graduated from Middlebury College in 1958. She was a longtime science teacher in the Barrington Junior High and High Schools. She loved to travel to Europe and the US, especially their home in Maine. She was a member of the Barrington Congregational Church, UCC, the Barrington Garden club as well as the Hamaho Garden Club. She especially enjoyed doing needlework and knitting. As a member of the Handicraft Club in Providence, she also mastered the art of weaving. Carolyn was the co-founder and President of the Pokanoket watershed alliance; whose mission was to identify polluted sources of water that fed Hundred Acre Cove.

Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter, Susan (Francis) Seader of Barrington, two sons, John (Tania) Faulhaber from Apex, NC, and Thomas Faulhaber (Susan Trembley) of Boylston, Mass., three grandchildren, Patrick (Susannah) Faulhaber, Allison Faulhaber and Katherine Faulhaber. She also leaves four nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
