Can't Make This Stuff Up...A Non-Fiction Book Group at Seekonk Library

Posted

Join us for a lively discussion of The Road to Character by David Brooks at the Seekonk Library on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 6:00 pm. New York Times columnist David Brooks explores the shift in American society from valuing the virtues of humility and gratitude to a culture that encourages “people to see themselves as the center of the universe.” Using the lives of numerous leaders and activists as examples, Brooks challenges himself and the reader to focus on building up their characters rather than their egos.

Our book group meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 6 PM and tackles a variety of nonfiction topics from gambling to birding and even mortality itself; it’s nonfiction that fiction readers can enjoy. New members are most welcome. Even if you only read a small portion of the book we’d love to hear what you have to say!

This program is free and open to all.
