Camping Grounds to host going-out-of-business sale

Westport Camping Grounds, now closed and soon to be acquired by the Town of Westport, announces an "everything must go" going-out-of-business estate sale.

The public is invited one day only, this Sunday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the camp located at 346 Old County Road in Westport. 

Various campground and office related items, at discounted prices, will be available for purchase. Items include commercial washers/dryers, landscaping hand and power tools, lumber and carpentry tools, wood decking, cement blocks, plumbing and electrical supplies, cash registers, and snack bar equipment.

There is also a large supply of seasoned and unseasoned firewood but no delivery is available on any items. All items are cash and carry or credit card. No checks please and everything sold "as is" with no refunds. For a complete list of items available by email, contact owner Martin Costa at westportcamp@aol.com.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
