A 14-year-old drove a car and then fled on foot, and Bristol police officers responded to the typical array of complaints about noisy people, a  loud wedding and disruptive folks late at night.

Bristol Police: Boy drives car and flees; cops quiet a noisy wedding

A 14-year-old drove a car and then fled on foot, and Bristol police officers responded to the typical array of complaints about noisy people, a  loud wedding and disruptive folks late at night.

Monday, Oct. 7

A caller complained of illegal dumping on Kickemuit Avenue.

A resident on Peck Avenue reported damage to a stone wall.

A 14-year-old male was arrested and charged with driving without a license after reportedly driving a brown Buick recklessly on Verdi Lane. The teen allegedly abandoned the car at about 5 p.m. and ran on foot through the surrounding neighborhood, through Coelho Park and eventually to the Cumberland Farms on Metacom Avenue, where he was apprehended.

An officer dispersed people from the Town Beach area at 7:20 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 8

A Franklin Street resident reported their car tires slashed at 8:35 a.m.

At 5 p.m., a caller from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church reported the “poor box” stolen from inside the church.

A caller reported a boat overdrive stolen from Metacom Avenue at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 9

A anonymous caller reported a man and woman arguing in front of a small child in the area of Bay View and Thompson avenues at 10:03 a.m.

Officers responded to Clipper Way at 11:51 a.m. for a verbal argument between roommates.

A caller reported a verbal argument between a man and woman on State Street at 4:19 p.m. An officer responded and sound there was no problem; just two roommates playing a video game.

Someone called to report a loose bull in the roadway along Metacom Avenue at 4:58 p.m., but it was quickly returned to its pen.

After being called to a domestic disturbance on Francis Street at 11:14 p.m., officers arrested Jonathan E. Rawson, 38, of 189 Mt. Hope Ave., Bristol, and charged him with domestic assault.

Thursday, Oct. 10

Officers responded to a disturbance on Hopeworth Avenue at 9:04 a.m. There were no arrests.

Officers were called to a verbal argument on St. Elizabeth Street at 9:42 p.m. There were no arrests.

Friday, Oct. 11

An officer investigated a tent spotted in the woods near Naomi and Dartmouth streets at 9:55 a.m. and reported it was unoccupied.

Officers responded to Butterworth Avenue at 3:46 a.m. for a disorderly conduct report. It turned out to be a misunderstanding over property.

Saturday, Oct. 12

A caller from Oliver Street reported she was locked in her bathroom at 2:05 a.m. The landlord was contacted, and the door was unlocked.

An officer dispersed people from the Mt. Hope boat ramp area at 2:41 a.m.

Joseph S. Pappas, 40, of 73 Constitution St., Bristol, was charged with a warrant.

Officers responded to Gail Road at 4:41 p.m. after someone reported hearing a woman screaming for help. It was a verbal argument; there were no arrests.

A resident reported a male yelling and a woman crying inside a nearby residence on Baker Street at 8:42 p.m. Officers responded and said there was no problem, just juveniles playing.

Someone called 911 from a Terrace Drive residence at 8:48 p.m. The dispatcher could hear a man and woman arguing in the background and dispatched units. Rescue was called for a victim with a hand laceration, and officers arrested Lisa A. Savla, 54, of 16 Terrace Ave., Bristol, and charged her with domestic felony assault. She was processed at the station and released.

Officers responded to the East Bay Bike Path area along Poppasquash Road at 11:34 p.m. and dispersed a vehicle and its occupants.

Sunday, Oct. 13

Officers dispersed a man from the area of State and Thames streets at 1:43 a.m.

An officer picked up two juveniles along Metacom Avenue at 2:39 a.m. and returned them to a parent.

A vehicle and its occupants were dispersed from Richmond Street at 2:59 a.m.

A caller reported two loose pitbulls in the area of Tower and Hilltop streets at 10:02 a.m.

The sewer department was called to Ever-Ready Road at 3:39 p.m. to address water gushing out of a manhole cover.

A caller complained of noise on Fales Road at 9:36 p.m.

A caller complained of loud music on Congregational Street at 10:08 p.m. An officer responded and determined it was coming from a wedding reception at the Bristol Train of Artillery building on State Street.

A second caller complained of loud music at 10:40 p.m., and the event coordinator agreed to close the windows and turn down the music.

Monday, Oct. 14

A man was dispersed from the area of Rosedale and Annawamscutt drives at 1:39 a.m.
