Bristol Police: Arrests for shoplifting, domestic violence, and elder abuse

Monday, September 21

A caller reported yelling in the area of DeWolf Avenue and West Street around 6:45 p.m. They were unsure if it was a gathering or a disturbance, however responding officers observed no noise in the area.

At 10:55 p.m. a caller from Hope Street reported a man wearing all black yelling near the bus stop.

Tuesday, September 22

At 5:05 p.m. a caller reported a vehicle parked in the roadway on Reservoir Avenue with an expired registration. Responding officers found a vehicle parked legally with an active registration.

At 5:59 p.m. officers dispersed a suspicious vehicle on Metacom Avenue.

Wednesday, September 23

At 9:11 a.m. a Congregational Street caller reported a vehicle blocking the street; responding officers found that the street was passable.

At 4:13 p.m., a case of a juvenile riding a dirt bike in the area of Fatima Drive was closed due to the rider being gone on arrival.

Thursday, September 24

Police received a call at 2:27 p.m. from a Chilton Street caller complaining that there were people yelling at a neighbor for calling the police regarding a parking complaint.

At 6:57 p.m. a caller complained of a male party taking pictures of a female party earlier in the evening on Asylum Road.

At 10:42 p.m. a caller reported two males fighting in the road on State Street.

Anthony V. Palumbo, 24, of 123 Rice Ave., East Providence was charged with domestic violence - simple assault and/or battery, first offense, and domestic violence - disorderly conduct around 10:42 p.m.

Friday, September 25

Breannan L. Gallant, 40, of 814 Hope St., Apt. 3 was charged by the Portsmouth Police Department with exploitation of an elder (between $500 and $100,000) and three counts of illegal computer access. The arrest stems from a report first filed on Aug. 6. A subsequent investigation showed that Gallant had been withdrawing funds from an elderly woman in her care since April 2025, according to police. Gallant had used multiple ATMs throughout Portsmouth and surrounding towns to withdraw more than $29,000 from the woman’s bank account without the victim’s authorization, police said. An arrest warrant was issued for Gallant, and she was taken into custody at Portsmouth police headquarters around 7:15 a.m.

At 8:47 a.m. a caller reported a blue Jeep and a red Kia parked in a no parking zone and obstructing driveways on Roma Street. Responding officers found no signs posted that the vehicles were in a no parking zone and no driveways were being obstructed.

At 1:50 p.m. police responded to a call from Clements Marketplace. Francesca M Coleman, 21 of 302 Linderman Ave. Cherry Hill, N.J. was charged with shoplifting.

Saturday, September 26

At 6:27 a.m. a collar reported that a large sign had flipped in the wind at the intersection of Hope, Thames, and Washington streets.

At 7:10 a.m., police responded to report of a tree down on top of a vehicle on DeWolf Avenue.

Sunday, September 27

At 11:57 a.m. officers responded to a Congregational Street residence regarding an intoxicated male party who was being verbally abusive.
