Bristol Police: Arrests for domestic assault, theft and DUI

Bristol Police made a handful of arrests in the first full week of April, including two for domestic assault, one for driving under the influenced and another for breaking-and-entering.

Monday, April 5

A resident on Narrows Road complained about a landscaping company blowing leaves into their yard at 10:12 a.m.

A Metacom Avenue resident complained about noise from a neighboring apartment at 12:32 p.m.

Someone called police to help an animal stuck in netting at Coelho Park off Jenny Lane at 2:14 p.m.

A Prospect Street resident reported receiving threats at 7:04 p.m.

An officer dispersed people from Veterans Park on Wood Street at 11:49 p.m.

Tuesday, April 6

Officers responded to Buttonwood Street to investigate a report of loud music and banging coming from a neighboring apartment at 12:43 a.m.

Justin R. Albano, 34, of Portsmouth, was charged with DUI, reckless driving-eluding an officer, and refusal to submit to a chemical test after a three-town pursuit began at about 1:20 a.m. and proceeded from Warren to Bristol to Portsmouth (see separate story).

A motorist drove their vehicle into the 1776 Liquors building at 9:01 a.m. There were no injuries.

An officer questioned someone near the intersection of Metacom and Gooding avenues at 10:59 a.m. after a report of a man interfering with traffic and yelling about “Jesus.”

There were reports of injured wildlife on Truman Court at 2:50 p.m. and Wapping Drive at 2:55 p.m.

Police responded multiple times to a Metacom Avenue location to remove people who were trespassing between 8 and 10:30 p.m.

Fireworks were reported on Mason Avenue at 10:40 p.m.

Wednesday, April 7

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Wilson Street at 1:30 p.m.

After police were called to Cole Street for a disturbance at 7:06 p.m., officers arrested two people. Laurieann Chilcot, 54, of 28 Cole St., Bristol, and Ryan Chilcot, 22, of the same address, were each charged with domestic simple assault. They were both processed at the station and released.

A caller reported that an unknown man waved a Trump hat out the window of a black SUV on High Street at 7:11 p.m. Officers checked the area but did not find the hat-waving suspect.

Thursday, April 8

Officers were called to investigate a family of raccoons in the area of Bristol Woods Drive at 8:51 a.m.

A resident reported a drone flying over Bristol Woods Drive at 8:51 a.m.

A sick skunk was reported in the area of Mt. Hope Avenue and First Street at 3:39 p.m.

A resident reported loud banging music coming from a Primrose Drive residence at 5:08 p.m. There was no noise when an officer arrived.

Friday, April 9

DEM was called to euthanize a sick raccoon along Hope Street at 6:30 a.m.

Another sickly raccoon was euthanized along Hope Street at 9:51 a.m.

A possibly sick raccoon was reported on Sherry Avenue at 3:52 p.m.

Devon P. Bruneau, 25, of 394 Metacom Ave., Bristol, was charged with domestic breaking-and-entering and domestic vandalism after being taken into custody after 8 p.m. He was arraigned at the station by a justice of the peace and released.

A woman who was ringing the doorbell of a Tina Court home at 10:32 p.m. was dispersed from the area.

An officer spoke to someone who was playing music loudly on Rosita Avenue at 11:19 p.m.

An officer spoke to someone who was playing music loudly on Evelyn Drive at 11:41 p.m.

Saturday, April 10

A caller reported a loud group of people in the area of Narrows Point at 1:28 a.m. An officer checked the area but did not find anything amiss.

The animal control officer called a patrolman to the Mt. Hope Boat Ramp area to deal with a sick raccoon at 7:30 a.m.

Someone ripped street signs off of poles at the intersection of Wall and Buttonwood streets.

Someone called police out of concern for two dogs left in a car along Wood Street at 1:55 p.m. An officer responded and determined the dogs were not in any distress, as the temperature in the car was 57 degrees.

An officer warned a dog owner who let the animal run free at the town beach area at 2:35 p.m.

A Wood Street resident reported harassing text messages to police at 3:36 p.m.

Officers were asked to investigate a possibly large gathering on Mt. Hope Avenue at 5:21 p.m. They checked the house and determined everything was in compliance.

A sick raccoon was reported on State Street at 6:20 p.m.

A noise complaint was reported on Burke Road at 7:48 p.m.

A caller complained about people being loud in a back yard on Thompson Avenue at 8:13 p.m. An officer spoke to the residents about the complaint.

Sunday, April 11

Officers responded to Goulart Avenue at 11:50 a.m. for a verbal argument.

Michael W. Hedblom, 47, of North Providence, was arrested and charged with larceny under $1,500 and being a habitual offender for larceny after allegedly being caught stealing from the donation box at St. Elizabeth’s Church (see separate story).
