Bristol police officers responded to fewer calls about loud music or noisy neighbors last week, though they did help corrall four loose sheep along Metacom Avenue and they made several arrests, including two for possession of marijuana on the Roger Williams University campus.

Monday, Oct. 5

A resident on Leila Jean Drive reported larceny of a cell phone.

Officers responded to the Town Common at 3:51 p.m. to assist a child who was stuck in a swing. The child was removed.

A resident complained about loud yelling coming from an apartment on DeWolf Avenue at 8:22 p.m. A patrolman responded and reported no noise upon arrival.

Someone reported loud noise coming from Harrison Street at 9:04 p.m.

A neighbor complained about someone playing drums on Greenway Drive at 9:15 p.m. An officer advised the resident to quiet down.

Tuesday, Oct. 6

Officer rendered assistance on Lower Ferry Road when four sheep got loose at 2:12 p.m.

An officer spoke to the offending party after a noise complaint on Sandra Court at 5:39 p.m.

Brendon David Kline, 22, of 217 State St., Apt. 3, Bristol, was charged with a District Court warrant at 9:06 p.m.

Someone reported that a male had pulled a knife on him and left the area of Wood and Bradford streets at 9:55 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 7

A 55-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct-urinating in public, after two people reported his behavior to police at 5:09 p.m., which included making inappropriate comments toward a woman and confronting a neighbor, at Coelho Park on Jenny Lane.

Someone called police to complain about a large group of people not socially distant on Goulart Avenue at 5:32 p.m. It turned out to a Realtor showing a house to a group of nine people.

Police were notified that the remains of a deer carcass were in the water near the Colt Park boat ramp at 6 p.m. They notified DEM, which responded that it would leave the remains where they were to wash away with the tide.

A powerful storm that ripped through the area around 6:30 p.m. touched off numerous calls to police. Residents reported a fallen tree on top of wires on Bay View Avenue; a tree limb pulling down live wires across Poppasquash Road; a 36-foot sailboat with two people aboard in the Kickemuit River who were unable to control the vessel; live wires blocking the road at Anawan and Sherman avenues; damage to a car from a neighbor’s tent on Bay View Avenue; and a tree smoldering in a yard on Academy Avenue.

Thursday, Oct. 8

After a report of a disturbance on a RIPTA bus heading north on Route 114 at 3:46 p.m., officers intervened and had two “friends who were intoxicated” removed from the bus. There were no charges.

Patrick Bolan Koar, 36, of 33 Wapping Drive, Bristol, turned himself in at the station on a warrant at 5:31 p.m. He was charged with domestic assault, domestic vandalism and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone. He was arraigned at the station and released.

An officer spoke to six people found sitting around a contained fire after a complaint about loud music on Prospect Street at 10:40 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 9

A caller told police that there might be people living in the woods off Tower Road, after seeing two people with bikes coming up from Tower to Massasoit at 9:40 a.m.

A 17-year-old was taken into custody and charged with unlawful drinking and misrepresentation by an underage person after attempting to purchase alcohol at 1776 Liquors at 5:10 p.m. The juvenile was later released to a guardian.

An 18-year-old was charged with unlawful drinking and misrepresentation by an underage person at the corner of Wood and Richmond streets at 8:10 p.m.

A 19-year-old was charged with unlawful drinking and misrepresentation by an underage person at Viola’s Liquors at 8:36 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 10

After Roger Williams University Security called police to request assistance with a large gathering on campus at 3:45 a.m., officers arrested two people. Evan M. Fitzpatrick, 20, of Wall, N.J., and Jeremy C. Weeden, 20, of Charlestown, R.I., were brought to the station, charged with possession of marijuana-more than 1 ounce, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and later released from the station.

A caller complained about an ATV riding up and down Mulberry Road at 9:32 a.m. An officer found a juvenile riding a battery-operated ATV on private property.

A resident found hypodermic needles underneath their mailbox at the intersection of Bay View and Thompson avenues.

A neighbor complained of loud music at Portside Tavern at 4:53 p.m. A patrolman advised the owner of the complaint.

A resident on Hope Street reported that a woman attempted to steal flags off her home at 11:38 p.m. When she confronted the woman, the would-be thief dropped the flags and left the area in an SUV.

Someone complained of loud music in the area of Bay View Avenue and High Street at 11:12 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 11

Someone reported people burning garbage on the beach at Narrows Point at 4:36 p.m.

A caller reported being followed and harassed by an older male in a blue Dodge on Wood Street at 6:04 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 12

An officer dispersed people from Lower Ferry Road at 12:02 a.m., and from the Town Beach at 12:38 a.m.

A patrolman dispersed several people from Independence Park on Thames Street at 12:51 a.m.

A neighbor complained about residents in an abutting apartment on Union Street who were talking loudly and stomping around at 1:33 a.m.
