Bristol PD: A week of unruly juveniles, illegal swimmers and domestic assaults

Monday, June 20
An officer spoke with people who were swimming off the dock at Independence Park at 4:53 p.m.

Shannon L. Mederos, 40, of 400 Thames St., Apt. 1, Bristol, was charged with larceny under $1,500 and two counts of violation of no-contact orders.

Tuesday, June 21
An officer dispersed two juveniles from the area of Wood and Bradford streets at 12:31 a.m.

An officer spoke to a man who was allegedly panhandling outside of Cumberland Farms at 7:46 a.m.

The harbormaster was called to speak to 8 to 10 people who were swimming from the dock at Independence Park at 3:53 p.m.

A 16-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer after a patrolman investigated suspicious activity on Thames Street at 9:59 p.m.

Wednesday, June 22
Officers called rescue to the scene after questioning a man who was accused of harassing customers at Cumberland Farms and a laundromat along Metacom Avenue at 8:27 p.m.

At 8:47 p.m., officers attempted but failed to track down juveniles who were seen attempting to get into the rides being set up on the Town Common.

Thursday, June 23
A caller from North Lane reported seeing two men in a yellow kayak attempting to steal his rowboat at 3:10 p.m.

At 4:12 p.m., police received another call about juveniles climbing on the carnival rides set up on the Town Common.

Officers responded to the Town Common for an alleged fight between two males at 5:06 p.m. They questioned a group of juveniles but there were no arrests.

National Grid was called to the scene of a vehicle struck a pole along Narrows Road at 6:05 p.m.

There was a rollover accident at the intersection of High and Burnside streets at 10:21 p.m.

Friday, June 24
An officer spoke to a Massasoit Avenue resident about loud music at 12:48 a.m.

Michael Brum, 52, of 118 Church St., Apt. 2, Bristol, was transferred into custody from Warren Police and charged on a warrant for disorderly conduct.

An officer spoke to a large group after an alleged fight near the gazebo and basketball court on the Town Common at 8:59 p.m.

Officers dispersed a large group of juveniles engaged in a verbal argument along State Street at 9:47 p.m.

Saturday, June 25
Herner Antulio Tzi Juc, 18, of 59 St. Elizabeth St., Apt. 2, Bristol, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree child molestation. Juc was arraigned in District Court on June 27 and entered no plea.

Adelino D. Vieira, 55, of 40 Long Lane, Warren, turned himself in on a warrant and was charged with domestic violence (attempted breaking-and-entering) and domestic vandalism (third+ offense).

After an alleged disturbance on the Town Common at 10:29 p.m., Ryan Nieves, 20, of 648 Main St., Warren, was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Officers investigated a gathering of people and fireworks in the area of Coggeshall Avenue and Platt Street at 11:47 p.m.

Sunday, June 26
Following a disturbance on Hope Street at 4:53 p.m., Kenneth J. Vieira, 52, of 1 Wayland Road, Bristol, was charged with domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct.

Someone called police to report finding a knife on the Town Common at 6:58 p.m.
