The Bristol District 2 All Stars beat Warren 8-2 Thursday evening to advance to the quarterfinals in the state tournament, in front of a large crowd at Vets Field in Bristol.

Bristol struck first with a first inning bomb by Dylan Rego. They added a second run in the third after Nicholas Andreozzi made it home on an overthrow to second following a wild pitch by Warren pitcher Andrew Jones.

Jones answered in the bottom half of the third, adding two runs of his own with a home run to straightaway center field.

The score stood at 2-2 until Bristol broke the game wide open and scored six runs in the top of the sixth.

Warren was eliminated from competition with Thursday’s lost, having lost to Darlington 5-3 last week. Bristol plays Saturday in a contest to be announced.
