Bring forth the Fourth in Bristol!

Posted

In a time-honored tradition, Bristol officially kicked off the Fourth of July celebration with Flag Day ceremonies last Friday evening, June 14. Chief Marshal James Farley had the honor of raising the American flag up an enormous pole on the Bristol Town Common, before a crowd of enthusiastic supporters.

The ceremony included songs from the Guiteras and Rockwell school choruses, a canon salute from the Bristol Train of Artillery, and comments from numerous town officials and honored guests. The popular Bristol Fourth of July concert series begins Thursday night and continues with performances every day through July 3. All shows are at Independence Park on Thames Street.
