Boudria netted a season high 42 points as the Westport basketball team downed Bishop Stang 85-77 in a non-league home game on Tuesday night. The win impoved the Wildcats record to 8-5.

Boudria sets season mark as Westport beats Stang 85-77

Owen Boudria netted a season high 42 points as the Westport basketball team downed Bishop Stang 85-77 in a non-league home game on Tuesday night. The win impoved the Wildcats record to 8-5. 

Boudria was also beastly on the boards and criminal on the floor as he collected a team high 17 rebounds and 7 steals during the comback victory. 

Westport down 22-13 after the first quarter, reversed the table and scored 27 points in the second quarter while holding Stang to 16. Boudria, who scored 21 first half points, netted 14 in the second quarter. Max Gallant chipped in with 7 points, including a 3-pointer. Cole Boudria scored 5 of his 12 points and Dane Leary added a 2. 

Owen Boudria continued to attack the net  as Westport outscored Stang 45-39 in the second half. The senior added 21 points scoring 16 from the floor and 5 of 6 from the free throw line.  He received help from Leary, who drained two 3-pointers for 6 of his 8 points. Alex Krynicki, who added 5 of his 9 points. Cole Boudria and Will Quinlan each sank threes and Gallant chipped in with 4 points. 

Westport scoring:  Owen Boudria scored 42 points, Cole Boudria scored 12, Max Gallant scored 11, Alex Krynicki scored 9, Dane Leary scored 8, Will Quinlan added 3. 

Next up: Westport hosts Avon on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and travels to Avon on Monday at 5 p.m.
