Bonnie R. Stropp, 75, Westport

Bonnie R. (Greene) Stropp, 75, of Westport, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years,  Edward K. "Sandy" Stropp Jr.

Bonnie was born in Michigan City, Ind., daughter of the late Charles E. and Theresa C. Greene, and had resided in Westport since 2003.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as an elementary school teacher for Kent Place School in Summit, NJ. for over 30 years.

In retirement, she loved the beach at Elephant Rock, playing sports at the Spindle Rock and Acoaxet Clubs and traveling. Bonnie also volunteered teaching at the Westport Watershed Alliance which she did for 15 years. She lived and loved life to its fullest.

Along with her husband, survivors include her children, Kelly Stropp and Stephanie Hoban; her brother, Roger Greene; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Stropp; son-in-law, Michael Hoban; and her grandchildren whom she cherished, Charlie Stropp and Maggie Stropp.

Memorial service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Saturday, October 26, at the United Congregational Church, Little Compton at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow at the Acoaxet Club, Westport.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westport River Watershed Alliance, P.O. Box 3427, Westport, MA 02790.
