Monday was Senior Day for the Eagles, and the team marked the occasion with wins over Mt. Hope, St. Raphael's, and Wheeler. Those victories secured a perfect 13-0 record for Barrington during the dual meet schedule. 

On Monday, Barrington's first place finishers were Claire Grover in the high jump and long jump; Elizabeth Grover in the triple jump; Rachael Baker in the javelin; Jessica Liang in the pole vault; Stephanie Chun in the 400 meter race; Julia Howarth in the 200; Jordynn Palethorpe in the 800; and both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. 

Last week, Barrington defeated Portsmouth 92-62 and LaSalle 103-50. The winners for Barrington were Julia Howarth in the 400; Claire Grover in the high jump; Annika Kelly in the hammer; and the BHS 4x400 relay team.

Many BHS athletes competed in a state qualifying meet at Conley Stadium in Providence on Saturday, April 27 under very windy conditions. Annika Kelly won the hammer with a new personal best throw. Caroline Livingston was first in the 3,000 with an impressive time of 10:33.53, a new personal best, achieved while virtually running alone. Annika and Caroline both have state-leading marks in their respective events.

The next major scoring meet for the girls will be the Division Meet at LaSalle on Monday, May 6.

Golf

The Barrington High School golf team shot a 170 to sweep Portsmouth and Middletown in an Eastern Division golf match at the Rhode Island Country Club on Tuesday, April 23.

Barrington’s Connor Sullivan and Ryan Ricci both shot a 41 on the nine-hole, par-36 course. Teammates Jake Andreozzi and Brendan Fay managed a 43 and 45, respectively.

The Patriots came in second with a collective score of 178. Their individual tallies were: Mike Gabriel (43), Lucas Oliveira (43), Mike Nardolillo (46) and Shamus Sullivan (46).

The Islanders’ Mason Gilman shot the lowest score for the day, an even-par 36. 

Boys tennis

The Barrington High School boys tennis team defeated South Kingstown for the second time this season and also picked up a key win over Bishop Hendricken recently.

On Thursday, April 25, the Eagles defeated South Kingstown 6-1. Barrington's singles players James Bogdanovic (number 1), Eric Zhang (number 2), Owen Voigt (number 3) and Alex Caizzi (number 4) each won their matches 6-0, 6-0. 

The first doubles team of Brian Donahue and Connor Kelly, and the third doubles team of Andrew Barton and Matt Brenner also celebrated wins.

The Eagles lone loss came at number two doubles, when Lucas Johnson and Jules Anton lost 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.

On Tuesday, April 23, Barrington rolled to a 7-0 victory over Hendricken. Barrington players — singles players and doubles teams — won in straight sets. 

The two recent wins pushed Barrington's record to 8-0 in Division I rankings. 

Boys volleyball

The Eagles celebrated a 3-1 win over Westerly on Tuesday, April 23. Barrington won 25-15, 22-25, 25-14, and 25-16. Brendan Chalue-Feeney finished with eight kills and four aces while Jake Soares had 16 digs and three aces. The Eagles, who dropped a 3-0 match to East Greenwich on Thursday, moved their record to 2-5. 

Baseball

Barrington split two games with West Warwick last week. The Eagles won 5-4 in dramatic fashion on Thursday, April 25, and then dropped a 10-1 decision on Monday, April 29. 

In Thursday's game, Sam Tanous had an infield hit in the bottom of the seventh inning and the throw to first base missed its mark, allowing Josh Leadem to score the game-winning run. George Promades and Leadem shared pitching duties for the Eagles, who scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game at 4-4. 

In the rematch against the Wizards, Barrington allowed five runs in the bottom of the first inning and was not able to respond, falling 10-1. Barrington had four errors and mustered just four hits.

On Tuesday, April 23, Barrington's Henry Johnson pitched six innings and Leadem took over in the seventh, combining to no-hit Tolman in a 3-2 Eagles' victory. Johnson and Tanous each drove in runs for Barrington.

The Eagles' record is now 3-5. 

Softball

The Eagles lost twice last week. On Tuesday, April 23, Barrington fell to LaSalle 16-5, and on Monday, the Eagles lost 13-0 to Coventry.

Barrington's record slipped to 1-7 with the losses.

Girls lacrosse

Barrington improved to 7-0 after winning four games last week. The Eagles defeated Cumberland 12-8 on Monday, April 19, as Reilly Curran scored five goals, Kate Robertson added three and Alexy Carolan finished with two goals. 

On Friday, April 26, Barrington scored 11 first half goals and rolled to a 17-11 victory over Lincoln School. Tess Gagliano assisted on seven Eagles' goals and scored three times, while Curran and Corina Drimbarean each scored four goals. Elizabeth Berkery scored twice for Barrington. Caileigh Durkin made 16 saves in net. 

Gagliano scored seven goals and paced the Eagles to a 17-8 victory over Wheeler School on Wednesday, April 24. Curran and Robertson each scored three times in the victory.

On Tuesday, April 23, as Barrington crushed LaSalle 16-3. Gagliano led the Eagles with seven goals and one assist, while Curran scored four times.

Boys lacrosse

Barrington fell to 1-3 after losing to Moses Brown 19-6 on Wednesday, April 24. Will Lisle scored two goals and had an assist, while Ren LaMotte, Ben Lisle, Quinn Gaffney and Ryan Edwards each scored single goals. Callum Flaherty made eight saves against the Quakers.
