The Barrington High School boys basketball team improved to 14-2 in the division after defeating Tiverton 76-58 on Wednesday, Feb. 12, and North Providence 58-48 on Friday, Feb. 14.

Boys basketball team defeats Tiverton

The Barrington High School boys basketball team improved to 14-2 in the division after defeating Tiverton 76-58 on Wednesday, Feb. 12, and North Providence 58-48 on Friday, Feb. 14.

William Rywolt knocked down seven three-pointers and finished with a game-high 30 points against Tiverton. Brendan Conaty added 14 points, Ben Batting had 11 and Connor Sullivan scored eight. 

Ryan Bonneau led the Eagles in the scoring column against North Providence, as the senior finished with 21 points. Rywolt dropped in nine, and Conaty and Sullivan each scored eight.

Girls basketball

Barrington picked up a nice win over East Providence, 56-30, on Thursday, Feb. 13, but lost to Johnston 52-43 on Monday, Feb. 17. The Eagles record is 5-10.

Against the Townies, Cary Heterick scored 20 points and Nina Gibbons dropped in 16, as Barrington opened a 28-12 halftime lead and rolled to victory. 

Heterick was again Barrington's leading scorer in the loss to Johnston. She finished with 19 points, while Gibbons had 14.

Girls hockey

The East Bay Co-op girls hockey team's senior night celebration was spoiled by Smithfield, as the Eagles lost 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Marissa Levreault scored the Eagles' lone goal, assisted by Mallory Cox and Madison Cornell.

On Thursday, East Bay skated past Burrillville, 3-1. Sarah Yee scored East Bay's first goal, netted in the first period, and Kat Barker added two more goals in the third period.

East Bay's record is 13-3.
