BHS sailing team hosting fund-raiser on Thursday

Event to feature guest speakers

Posted

There will be a fund-raiser for the Barrington High School sailing team on Thursday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Barrington Yacht Club.

The event will feature two guest speakers — Andrew Gaynor, a structural engineer at American Magic, a challenger in the 36th America's Cup; and Charlie Enright, of Volvo Ocean Racing's 11th Hour Racing and the IMOCA 60.

The Barrington sailing team is hoping to raise money through the event to purchase new sails featuring the BHS logo, marks and motor boat anchors, medical kits, mega phones, spare boat parts, and offset costs associated with traveling to and registering for regattas.

There will also be a silent auction at the event.
