BHS graduate shines at college sailing nationals

Lindsay Kloc is a two-time All-American

Posted

Barrington High School graduate Lindsey Kloc recently returned home to Rhode Island to compete in the 2019 ICSA College Sailing Nationals held in Newport.

In her final year sailing for Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Lindsey competed in the Team Racing and Coed Fleet Racing Championships. Serving as team captain and sailing with fellow senior, Charlie Miller, they finished eighth overall in team racing, won the B Division of the Coed Western Semifinals, and claimed second place overall in B Division at the Coed Finals.

They were the only boat to finish the event with all top-10 finishes in the 18-race final series, and led Hobart and William Smith Colleges to a fourth place finish overall at Coed Nationals.

Both Kloc and Miller (a San Diego native who also has local ties to Barrington) were named ICSA All-Americans at the conclusion of the event, making Kloc a two-time All-American selection after receiving the honor previously in 2018. Both have competed in the National Championships for all four years of their college careers, and were also recently named to the All-MAISA Conference Team.
