Bethany Sousa Foster

Bristol

Political platform statement

Why I am running for this office: I’m Bethany Sousa Foster and I’m running for Bristol Town Council as an endorsed Democrat. I’ve lived in Bristol for most of my life. I attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and graduated from Bristol High School. I attended Boston University, where I earned a degree in management with a concentration in accounting. I stayed in the Boston area for four years after college, working in public accounting and earning my CPA, before returning to Bristol.

I am currently a manager in the Controller’s department at Textron where I’ve been for more than 22 years. I live on Roma Street with my 20-year-old daughter, and I can frequently be seen walking my dog, Sophie, downtown.

I’m a member of the Bristol Democratic Town Committee and have served as Treasurer of the Committee since January 2019. I worked on Susan Donovan’s and June Speakman’s state representative campaigns in 2018 and 2019. I also chaired Bristol’s Charter Review Commission this year.

I’m running for Town Council because I want to make sure that our town’s government works for working families, senior citizens, and small businesses. I hope I can count on your vote on November 3rd! Let’s keep Bristol moving forward,
