Bernard Ciotti, of Bristol , died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the husband of Joan (Lever) Ciotti.

Bernard was born in Providence, a son of the late Pasquale and Rosina ( DiVirgilio) Ciotti.

Mr. Ciotti was a Groundskeeper for Brown University and had worked for many years at the former Trifari Jewelry Company. Mr. Ciotti was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Felicia Turner and her husband William, a son, Bernard Ciotti Jr., his wife Monique and granddaughter Gianna. Bernard also leaves nieces Lucille Loqa, her husband Ramzi, and Godson Matthew. Nicole Coe, Rene (Joe) Santos, Kelsey Lever. Nephews John (Molly) Resendes, Robert (Melissa) Lever.

In-laws Joanne and Ed Simmons, John and Janet Lever, Richard Metz and Frank Mello.

He was the brother of the late Lucy Verrecchia and husband Anthony.

His funeral will be held Friday Nov. 13, at 8:30 a.m., from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Jean Baptiste Church, 328 Main St. Warren. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wampanoag Trail, East Providence .

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling  Hours Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main St.  Warren RI 02885 would be appreciated.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
