The United Veterans Council of Barrington will be sponsoring and holding its annual Veterans Day ceremony at Barrington High School's Victory Gate on Nov. 11. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.

The theme of this year's event will be to recognize the sacrifices of those Barrington citizens that gave their lives in the defense of our country during the Cold War period to stop the global spread of Marxism and Communism. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying at the location of the bronze plaque that lists their names at Victory Gate .

Major Bill Groves, US Army Retired, will be the Master of Ceremonies, while Colonel Charlie Brule, US Army Retired, will be the Honorary Chaplain. Lt. Colonel Paul Dulchinos, US Army Retired, will be the keynote speaker.

The Color Guard will be provided by Boy Scout Troop 2 of Barrington, and Taps will be performed by Elijah Short of Barrington High School. The National Anthem will be sung by Maria Gunness of Barrington High School.

The United Veterans Council of Barrington welcomes and encourage all members of the public to attend this

ceremony and rally at Victory Gate to honor veterans.
