A Barrington Police officer was driving down New Meadow Road near the intersection with South Lane at about 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, when he spotted two individuals walking down the middle of the road.

As the officer drew closer, he saw the shirtless males throw Miller Lite beer cans off to the side of the road, police said. The officer also allegedly watched as the individuals, later identified as two 17-year-old Barrington boys, drop a bag near the side of the road.

The officer pulled the cruiser to the side of New Meadow Road, approached the boys, and later charged them each with possession of alcoholic beverage-underage persons. Police said one of the boys lived nearby while the other was from another part of Barrington.

On Friday, July 31, police were called to Governor Bradford Drive for a report of a teenager throwing an empty bottle at a neighbor. Police said the resident was riding his bicycle past the home on Governor Bradford when a bottle was thrown in his direction, smashing on the ground behind him. The man said he believed the bottle, an empty container of Twisted Tea, was thrown by some juveniles at the house; he added that the teens had been drinking in the backyard.

Police spoke to the woman who owns the home. She said she had just returned home, adding that she spoke to the boy who threw the bottle and kicked him off her property. Police said the woman was not cooperative with the investigation. 

On Saturday, police charged a 15-year-old Barrington boy with willful trespass after he allegedly entered a vacant building on the former Zion Bible College property. A video surveillance camera on the property identified the teenager inside an equipment room in one of the buildings. Police had previously issued the teenager a no trespass order, after he had been caught a prior time on the private property.
