Barrington team competes in High School Quiz Show

BHS has won two straight state championships

The BHS High School Quiz Show team competed at the 3rd annual High School Quiz Show Rhode Island contest at the PBS studio in Providence on Nov. 9 and 10. 

Barrington participated in an eight team bracket to determine this year's state champion. Barrington has won the last two state championships of High School Quiz Show: Rhode Island. 

This year's BHS team members are Clara Kugler, Douglas Meeker, Eli Terrell, Eden Lamb, Connor O’Neal and Benjamin Lamb. 

This year’s high schools included Lasalle, Bishop Hendricken, Lincoln, North Kingstown, East Greenwich, Classical, and Coventry.

Results from the Nov. 9 and 10 taping will be disclosed in the spring when the 7 High School Quiz Show episodes are aired on PBS.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
