The RI Super Liga held its 25th Anniversary Championship weekend at Colt State park in Bristol recently, wrapping up the state's spring competitive travel season.
Barrington Youth Soccer had two teams represented in the finals with both taking home state titles. The u14 Boys-Arsenal team completed its final season together before many head off to high school, winning the u14 Boys Rhody Championship 2-0 over Narragansett. This capped an impressive run where the Barrington boys did not give up a single goal in their playoff matches.
The u13 Boys-Lyon team captured its first Super Liga title winning 2-0 over South County in the u13 Boys Anchor Championship. Following a 6-2 quarterfinals win over Pawtucket, the BYSA boys endured a semifinal in the summer heat emerging victorious, 4-3, over RI Future Stars despite having to close out the game down a player on the field due to injury.
The Super Liga Championship concluded an impressive spring season where Lyon went 13-2-1 across all competitions and followed up their title in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament over Father's Day weekend.
