A Highland Avenue resident called Barrington Police on Saturday night, Nov. 2, after discovering someone had stolen their Harris Walz lawn sign and then smashed a pumpkin on their front steps.
Police said the resident spotted a pick-up truck parked nearby with teenagers inside it. The resident believes the teenagers may have been responsible for the missing sign and smashed pumpkin. Police were able to find some video camera footage of the incident, but could not make out the truck’s license plate number.
Barrington Police fielded nearly a half-dozen calls for stolen lawn signs just last week. On Sunday, Nov. 3, a Lantern Lane resident called police after discovering someone had stolen their lawn sign promoting Jennifer Boylan for the RI House of Representatives District 66 seat. Boylan is a Democrat.
Shortly after that call, a Sowams Road resident called police to report that someone had stolen their Harris Walz sign.
And on Wednesday, Oct. 30, a Lincoln Avenue resident called police to report that her lawn sign and one belonging to her neighbor had both been stolen.
