Barrington Police seize BB guns from Warren man

Officers called to incident on Jennys Lane

Posted

Barrington Police received a call on Monday, Aug. 8 at 7:40 p.m., from a Jennys Lane resident who said a man was shooting a BB gun in a nearby yard.

Police responded and spoke to the complainant. Police then located the suspect — a 40-year-old Warren man who was staying in a nearby Jennys Lane home.

According to the police dispatch log, the complainant said the Warren man was intoxicated and shooting a BB gun at him and his dog. During a followup interview, police could not confirm that the Warren man had actually shot at the Barrington resident.

Police said a verbal argument had broken out between the suspect and the Barrington resident after the resident asked the Warren man to stop shooting the BB gun.

Eventually police issued a no trespass order to the Warren man for the Jennys Lane property.

Police said they seized four BB guns from the Warren man — two BB pistols and two BB rifles.
