Barrington police arrest man following motorcycle accident

Posted

A Warren man crashed his motorcycle early Sunday morning in Barrington and later ended up arrested by police.

Police were notified of an accident near the intersection of County Road and Sowams Roam at about 1:45 a.m., and upon arrival discovered a man laying motionless on the ground.

Police said Robert L. Gervais, 29, suffered numerous injuries during the crash, including a broken arm. He was unconscious and bleeding from his head when officers first arrived.

After Mr. Gervais was tended to, police ran a check of his ID and reportedly discovered that there was an active warrant out for his arrest. The warrant had been issued by Sixth Division District Court in Providence for failure to appear in court on a prior charge.
