A person driving in the northern section of Barrington spotted what appeared to be a fight taking place on Friday afternoon, July 17, and decided to call the police.
The witness rang the police department at about 12:50 p.m. and told the dispatcher that a woman and a man were arguing in the area of Zephyr Lane and it appeared the man was getting the worst of it. The witness said the woman was hitting the man with a wrench.
Police officers responded to the area and located the apparent victim — the man was bleeding and bruised around his right eye. Officers asked the man what happened, but he refused to share any information. He then went into his house and shut the door.
Police looked for the alleged attacker, but could not locate her.
