The Barrington Little League 9-10 Minors All-Star team scored 15 runs in the first three innings and rolled to a 20-2 win over Warren in the winner's bracket final in Barrington on Friday night, July 17.
With the win, Barrington advanced to the championship game, which will be played on Friday, July 24, at 5:45 p.m. at Sherwood Field in Barrington.
Against Warren, Barrington's Matt Davis pitched a gem on the mound, striking out five batters over three shutout innings. Meanwhile Barrington's offense erupted for 13 hits and 10 walks en route to the victory.
Evan Anderson and Griffin Crain each had two hits while Matt Raffa, Davis, Connor Huard, Jet Cajigas, Gabe Tanous, Quinn Murphy, Spencer Proulx, Mitchell Ivatts and Adam Gorman each chipped in with a hit. Twelve of Barrington's 13 batters scored.
On defense, Huard threw out a would-be base-stealer and the Barrington team ended the game with an exciting double-play.
