The Barrington High School football team scored its first touchdown against Division I competition in a 35-6 loss to Cranston West on Friday night. The Eagles struck early and trailed 21-6 at the half. They allowed a quick touchdown to the Falcons to start the third quarter, but the offense rallied and threatened to score again. On a key third down, Barrington quarterback Patrick Fogarty sprinted around the left side of the line and slammed into a Cranston West defender at the goal-line. On fourth down at the two yard line, Fogarty handed off to Talha Yasin who darted around the right side of the line but was tripped up just short of the end zone. Barrington's touchdown was tallied by Vasilios Meltsakos on a nice run in the first quarter.
