Barrington improved to 4-0 in the division after defeating Tiverton 12-1 on Wednesday afternoon, April 10, at Tiverton.
For Barrington’s offense, Grant Culton blasted a single, a double and a triple and drove in three runs. Quinn Murphy crushed a double and a triple and knocked in two runs, and Miles Fontaine had two RBI with a ground-out and a bases-loaded walk.
Alex Anderson earned the victory for Barrington — he limited the Tigers to five hits in four innings of work. As a team, Barrington reduced its ERA to 0.54.
The game was called after six innings because of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s mercy rule.
Kamden Rego hit a single and a triple for the Tigers.
Barrington is scheduled to play at Division I Central High School on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. in a non-league game.
The Eagles return to Division II competition next week with three games in five days.
Barrington plays at East Providence at noon on Monday, April 15, at home against Ponaganset at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, and plays at Westerly at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 19.
