Barrington Shaw’s Supermarket now boasts the best grocery bagger in the state.

Chris Sullivan, who has worked at Barrington Shaw’s for more than five years, recently won the coveted title of “Rhode Island Food Dealers Association Best Bagger.”

Sullivan won the statewide competition and will represent Rhode Island in the National Best Bagger competition scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24 at the Caesar’s Forum Convention Center in Las Vegas. The national competition prize is $10,000.

“RIFDA would like to congratulate Chris Sullivan of Shaw’s as he represents the state of Rhode Island at the National Best Bagger Competition in Las Vegas in February 2025,” said Scott Bromberg, president and CEO of the RI Food Dealers Association. “His time and efficiency scores blew away the competition, which was fierce this year. We wish him the best of luck!”

Sullivan, who is in his fourth year at Roger Williams University in Bristol, is currently training for nationals at Barrington Shaw’s.
