The Barrington High School girls indoor track team finished second at the Headley Division Championships on Tuesday night, Jan. 21.
The Eagles scored 91 team points while first place Cumberland scored 144. Mt. Hope High School was third with 71 points.
Twelve Barrington High School student-athletes put forth personal best times during the division championship.
Relay teams paced the Barrington effort.
The Eagles’ 4x200-meter relay team of Roxana Mohammadi, Charlotte Farrell, Emma Pearse and Kate Pearse won the event. The Barrington team clocked a 1:51.94.
Ginevera Girardello, Ella Reagan, Faith Barrass and Caroline Reznik combined to finish second in the 4x800-meter relay event. And Indie Lamb, Farrell, Paige Davignon and Pearse ran to a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay event.
Pearse also sprinted to a second place finish in the 300-meter race, while Farrell clocked a personal best in the same event and finished fifth. Emma Pearse had a personal best and finished eighth.
Sara Chang put together a strong race in the 1,000-meter event and finished fourth. Evelyn Lefort finished seventh in the same event. Lefort also ran a new indoor personal best time to place sixth in the 3,000-meter race. The field of competitors in that event was particularly strong. Mia He finished eighth in the 3,000.
Chang ran a new personal best against another strong field to place fifth in the 1,500-meter race. Maeve Kelly finished seventh in the same event and Barrass was eighth.
Lamb finished fourth in the 600-meter race while Reznik was sixth and Girardello ran a personal best and finished seventh.
The Eagles also has a strong showing in the field events. Helena Hyde finished second in the high jump, while Allie Ford finished eighth.
Kitty Wang finished third in the shot put, while three Eagles placed in the weight throw — Natalie Antonio finished fourth, Wang was sixth, and Allena Kelly was eighth.
