Barrington Education Foundation’s annual Giving Drive is underway.
Since its inception in 1992, Barrington Education Foundation, a volunteer-driven non-profit organization, has awarded more than $1.3 million in innovative teacher grants, provided directly to Barrington schools.
The grants have been made possible, largely, by generous donations from the Barrington community. Each school year, BEF looks to the people of Barrington for support to help keep Barrington Public Schools full of extraordinary educational experiences.
“Strong schools are the largest asset to any community and BEF prides itself on enhancing our District’s many accomplishments with new and improved technology, deeper learning programs, and teacher initiatives not ordinarily included in the annual budget,” stated a press release from BEF.
The BEF volunteer board has been busy working over the winter allocating “SPAR-Q” and traditional grants to all six schools in the Barrington district. Grants funded in the last year include “Drones for Drone Education” at the middle school; six Water Rower rowing machines at the middle school; R2D2 coding presentation at Sowams School; “Wild Adaptions” experience and Dinosaur Rocks at Primrose Hill School; blank game boards for fluency practice at Nayatt School; computer monitors and software at the high school; Project Putt golf program at Hampden Meadows School; and “Calming Corners” and SEL support for all the K-5 schools.
