Barrington boys win Class B Track Championship

BHS girls team finishes second at Class B meet

The Barrington High School track teams fared well over the weekend. The boys team won the Class B Championship, while the girls finished second in their respective Class B title meet.

The Barrington boys outscored second place Classical 183-90. The Eagles’ 4x100-meter relay team of Nate Greenberg, Ethan Knight, Alex McClelland and Iain DeBoth won with a time of 44.30. Knight also won the 110-meter hurdles. 

Will DiGiacomo finished second in the 400-meter race. Myles Napolitano was second in the 3,000. Charlie Stockwell was second in the 800-meter race. Michael Fay was second in the javelin, and in the hammer. Chucky Potter finished second in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6 feet, 2 inches. 

Third place finishes went to DeBoth in the 100, Fay in the discus, Finn Myatt in the 3,000, Eli Terrell in the long jump, and the 4x800-meter relay team of Charlie Stockwell, his brother Henry Stockwell, Marius Bonard and Napolitano. Brett White finished third in the hammer throw. 

Jared Lesk finished fourth in the 300-meter race, and Dan Lemos was fourth in the shot put. Charly Potter was fourth in the pole vault. Fritz Muehlbauer finished, Knight, DiGiacomo, and DeBoth finished fourth in the 4x400-meter relay team. Ryan Martin was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles and pole vault. Pierce Wilkerson was fifth in the triple jump, and Danie Chun was fifth in the 800. 

Chucky Potter finished sixth in the pole vault, while Eliot Lefort was sixth in the 3,000. 

Girls finish second

The Eagles finished second behind South Kingstown at the Girls Class B Championship. 

Eva Garofano won the discus and continued to be the top-ranked discus thrower in the state. 

Ellie Noonan set a new personal best of 9-feet 6-inches (one of the top marks in the state) to win the pole vault.

Sophia Ford won the triple jump by nearly two feet and finished third in the long jump. 

The 4x800-meter relay team of Olivia Johnson, Sara Chang, Indie Lamb and Caroline Reznik ran away from the field to win.

Other BHS competitors to finish in the top three in their events included Natalie Antonio in the javelin, Lily Cregan in the hammer, and Jordan Roskiewicz in the 100-meter hurdles.
