Barrington boys finish second at Class B Championships

BHS runner wins 55-meter hurdles

The Barrington High School boys track team finished second at the Class B Championships held in Providence on Saturday, Feb. 8. 

Walter Joachim-DelPoio won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8:01, and also finished fourth in the long jump. 

Will Sanchez finished second in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5 feet, 8 inches, and also grabbed third in the long jump. Will Cauley was second in the weight throw with a distance of 71 feet, 6.5 inches, and finished fourth in the shot put. 

The group of Jay Schieffelin, Kaden Voeller, Ethan Major and Holden Vaughan ran to a third place finish in the 4x800-meter relay event, while Jackson O'Connor, Aaron Brady, Andrew Blazewicz and Sanchez finished fourth in the 4x200-meter relay. 

Schieffelin, Joachim-DelPoio, Jackson Montour and Sanchez finished third in the 4x400-meter race. 

Schieffelin was fourth in the 600 and Vaughan was fifth in the 1,500.
