The Barrington High School boys cross country team finished fifth in the 2024 Woods Trail Run at Thetford Academy in Vermont on Saturday, Oct. 5.
St. Johnsbury Academy finished first, followed by East Greenwich, E.O. Smith, BFA-St. Albans and Barrington. More than 50 teams competed in the event.
Myles Napolitano finished eighth overall and was Barrington’s top runner. He crossed the line with a time of 17:04.62. Connor Curran finished 35th overall, followed by Colby Napolitano in 42nd place, Neal Bansal in 65th, and Sam Bishop in 84th. Daniel Chun finished 89th and Sam Spencer was 106th.
Other Barrington runners to compete in the race were Marius Bonard (111), Vlad Horvatic (126), Michael Chun (129), Henry Schultz (136), Henry Humphreys (139), Rowan Knight (176), Andrew Cambria (194), Patrick Coen (210), Andrew Beal (242), Nick Valdez (261), Evan Frechette (262), Teddy Pickford (301), Miles Castel (336), Noah Bernier (391), Bryce Marvill (431), Bi Nguyen (434), Shaun Srirangam (438), Kyle Mohlman (483), Augustin Velasco (489), Scott Jiang (497), Aahan Ananthan (546), and Sid Hariharan (552).
“I want to commend the whole team for a great weekend,” wrote Coach Mike Katz in a recent email. “All the guys were model citizens, behaved very maturely.”
Girls split
The Barrington High School girls cross country team split in its final dual meet of the season. Barrington defeated Bay View 19-43 and lost to LaSalle 20-43.
Evelyn Lefort won the race with a time of 19:53, and was followed by six LaSalle runners. Barrington’s Sara Chang finished 10th, while Scarlett Wasihowicz was 11th, Mia He was 12th, Indie Lamb was 13th and Estelle Mentzer was 14th.
Barrington’s record moved to 10-1 in the Metropolitan Division.
