The Barrington High School baseball team is headed to the Division II Final Four.

The Eagles defeated Mt. Hope, 1-0, in dramatic fashion on Friday afternoon.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Barrington left-fielder Matt Culligan threw out what would have been the tying run at home plate. The stellar play ended the game and propelled the Eagles into a semifinals series against Prout.

The Crusaders and Eagles will play in a best-of-three series starting Monday, June 3, at Pierce Field in East Providence. Monday's game starts at 4 p.m.

In addition to his standout defensive play, Culligan also hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth that scored pinch-runner JC Niemeyer.

Henry Johnson pitched well for the Eagles, throwing five shutout innings and striking out five Mt. Hope batters.
