The Barrington 12U Majors All-Star team improved to 2-0 in the state tournament after defeating Cranston Western 7-3 in a winner's bracket game on Sunday night, July 21, in East Greenwich.

Barrington fell behind 3-0 early in the game but rallied for five runs in the third inning. The local team scored three runs to knot the score and then pinch-hitter Will DiGiacomo blasted a two-run home run over the left field fence.

Barrington went on to win the game 7-3.

Alex Anderson pitched well for Barrington and Mason Crain closed it out on the mound.

"I am thrilled for them," said Barrington Manager Chris Promades, following the game. "They showed great resiliency."

Barrington will play again on Wednesday, July 24, against the winner of the Cranston Western vs. Chariho elimination bracket game.
