The Barrington Little League Juniors All Star team got off to a great start in the first round of the state tournament by defeating a very experienced Cranston West team 3-0 on Saturday.
Bennett Durkin's RBI single in the first and Tom Rocha's bases-loaded double in the fourth inning was all pitcher George Promades needed in the win. George pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout after throwing a no-hitter last week.
Barrington's outfield was busy all day catching everything that was hit to them.
Barrington will play the winner of East Greenwich/Cumberland on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Cumberland.
