The Barrington Little League 12U All Star baseball team beat Darlington American 15-0 on Monday night, June 30. Will Coutant and Andrew Knychalski combined to pitch a three-hitter.  

The 12U team put runs on the board in all five innings in their game at Sherwood Field. Sebastian Hyams, Xavier Maddox, Leo Espindle, and Henry St. Onge all had two RBI. 

Coutant earned his second win of the tournament, going 2.1 innings and throwing only 38 pitches. Eleven different players scored a run over the course of the game. The Barrington 12U team will play Rumford at Kimberly Ann Rock on Wednesday in their final game of pool play.

Opener

Barrington Little League’s 12U All Star baseball team beat Middletown/Newport 5-0 in the first game of pool play in the District II tournament. 

Barrington pitchers Coutant and Chase Corcoran combined for a one-hitter and had a perfect game through 5.2 innings.

Coutant pitched 4.2 innings, retiring all 14 batters he faced and striking out seven while Corcoran came in from the bullpen and got the next three batters to ground out. 

Barrington surrendered their first hit, a single, in the sixth inning but caught the runner trying to advance to second. The next batter grounded out to Knychalski at second base ending the game. Barrington pitchers faced the minimum 18 batters in the game.

On offense, Hyams got the party started for Barrington with an RBI double to left field in the first inning. Michael McGovern singled to left in the third inning, driving in two runs. Coutant helped himself with a line drive to left in the third inning that drove home Andrew Viele. 

The Barrington 12U All Stars prepped for the district tournament with a strong showing in the Silver City Slugfest tournament, which was hosted by Taunton Little League. Barrington 4-0 and won the tournament.
