Barbara Ann Dias, 87

Barbara Ann (Borges) Dias, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 13, 2021. Born on March 18, 1933, she was raised in Bristol, R.I., the daughter of the late John Borges and Anna Castro Borges. She graduated from Colt Memorial High School in 1952. She was a devoted and proud mother of six children and wife for 24 years to the late Joseph Dias of Rehoboth, Mass.

Barbara was a dedicated Christian who labored in prayer for her family, children and grandchildren, that they be reconciled with God through Salvation in Jesus Christ. Barbara walked many miles to purchase and distribute gospel tracts, books, and pamphlets in the community, frequently placing them on car windows, doors, or in hand to share the gift of her faith. She would be pleased to know they are still being used for her great-grandchildren today.

She supported various ministries, including the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, and her church, Radiant Christian Church in Warren, R.I. She will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving, affectionate mother who did her best to make a difference and leave an example of one who loves and forgives.

She is survived by her five children, Deborah Wallace (Stephen), Wiscasset, Maine, Barbara Moore (Gery), Riverside R.I., Gail Pereira (Michael), Warren, R.I., Joseph Dias Jr., Warren, R.I., and David Dias (Renee), West Yarmouth, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Dean and Clinton Gold (Kacy), Jared (Audrie) and Kyle Moore, Bethany Rivera (Josh), Benjamin, Jason, and Seth Dias; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Barbara is predeceased by her son, Robert, brother John Borges Jr., and granddaughter Charlotte Wallace.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Elizabeth Manor in Bristol for the loving care they provided to Barbara during her residency over the last 12 years.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at Radiant Christian Church, 895 Main St., Warren, RI, on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at 10 a.m., with visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Burial will be private.

** Mask use is required and social distancing guidelines will be followed**.

Arrangements are with the George C. Lima Funeral Home.
