Allegation: Neighbor drove at suspect's wife while she the dog

The attorney for Dr. Richard Gordon called Barrington Police on Friday morning, Sept. 18, and reported an alleged issue involving his client's neighbor.

The attorney told police that his client's wife was walking her dog along the road when a neighbor drove by her in a way that made her feel uncomfortable.

Police said officers responded to Rumstick Drive, where both parties live, and spoke to the people involved. No one was charged.

The two families were involved in a well-publicized police incident on Aug. 3.

Video taken that day and later posted to Facebook shows Dr. Gordon yelling racial slurs at one of his neighbors — the husband of Iman Ali Pahlavi.

Ms. Ali Pahlavi, who lives near Dr. Gordon, posted a message to Facebook that included the video footage. Barrington police initially charged Dr. Gordon with simple assault/battery and disorderly conduct, but later filed a notice, changing the case to a hate crime.

Dr. Gordon's attorney has since issued a statement, alleging that his client was the victim in the Aug. 3 incident.
