Sideli, a largely self taught assemblage artist whose working process is an outgrowth of his life long career in American Antiques and folk art. He had been  making art composed of antique and vintage material for more than thirty-five years, and has earned acclaim for his work from many quarters in both the U.S. and Europe. Pictured is a detail of “The Gathering Storm,” an assemblage composed of headlines from the Providence Journal from the 1930's-which refers to Hitler's rise. “It has taken some years to  put it together but I am rather pleased with the result,” he said. “It evolved into a rather arresting, if somewhat disarming work of art.”
